Using Hermes Agent for ecommerce means putting Nous Research's open-source agent on the repeat work of an online store: drafting product copy, checking competitor pages on a schedule, triaging support messages, preparing email campaigns and building weekly reports, while a person approves anything that goes live or touches orders. It runs the prep; you keep the final say.

Below are copyable setups for each job, the Hermes feature that runs it, and the exact approval point. Every connector named here was checked against the v0.23.0 catalogs on GitHub.
What Hermes Agent for ecommerce connects to
Hermes has two catalogs. The Nous-approved MCP catalog lists vendor-hosted servers that Nous merged after review. The community plugin catalog lists third-party plugins; presence there means admission, not Nous support, so read each entry before connecting.
Relevant Nous-approved MCP entries at v0.23.0:
- Klaviyo: "campaigns, flows, segments, and reporting." The manifest says Hermes pins a trimmed core tool set and turns off tools that read user-generated content, and that it needs an Owner, Admin or Manager Klaviyo role.
- Square: "Catalog, orders, and payments."
- Stripe and PayPal: payments, customers and invoices.
- Intercom: "Conversations, tickets, and customer data."
- Airtable and Notion: bases and databases, useful for product data.
Shopify, WooCommerce and BigCommerce have no dedicated entry in either catalog. They appear only inside the community dsers plugin, a dropshipping tool whose catalog entry lists them in its ecosystem, and Shopify also appears in the community markifact ads plugin. The dsers entry says its remote tools include writes such as supplier-order placement that spends money, and that it marks the server untrusted so those calls go to approval. Mailchimp and Gorgias have no entry.

Product copy drafts with Hermes Agent for ecommerce
Give the store its own profile. The Nous docs say each profile keeps its own config, memories, skills and cron jobs. Put your brand voice rules in memory: the docs cap MEMORY.md at 2,200 characters, which is enough for tone, banned words and sizing notes.
A sample skill a small candle shop could write, called product-copy:
"Read the New Products view in Airtable. For each row with an empty Description field, write a 60 to 90 word description, three bullet points and a meta description under 155 characters. Use only facts in the row. Write the drafts into the Draft Copy field. Do not change any other field."
What it produces: draft copy sitting next to each product, ready for a person to edit and paste into the store. With the Airtable server set to trust: untrusted, each write asks first, so you see every field change before it lands.
Competitor checks with Hermes Agent browser and cron
In v0.23.0 browser automation runs on browser_exec, which the docs say can navigate, read, click and take screenshots in a real browser. The bundled product-price-monitor skill is described as "Watch product, flight, or listing prices; alert on target." The skill file says setup runs once in the foreground with a live baseline, then a cron tick handles the recurring check.
Sample setup:
- "Use the product-price-monitor skill to watch these five competitor product pages. Record price, stock status and shipping note as the baseline."
- "Every day at 7am, check them again and message me on Telegram only if a price changes or an item goes out of stock."
What it produces: a quiet morning alert when something moves, and silence when nothing does. The decision to change your own prices stays with you. Setup details are in Hermes Agent cron job and Hermes Agent browser.

Support triage in Hermes Agent for ecommerce
Hermes approvals cover dangerous commands and MCP writes. They do not hold outgoing messages. So build support as draft-first.
Sample setup a two-person store could run:
- Connect the Intercom MCP entry with trust: untrusted, or route a support email address through the Hermes email gateway with an allowlist.
- Prompt: "For each new conversation, tag it as order status, return, product question or other. Draft a reply using the returns policy in memory. Do not send. Post a summary of urgent ones to the support Slack channel."
What it produces: sorted conversations and ready drafts a person checks and sends. The bundled email-inbox-triage skill is described as "Triage an inbox: prioritize threads, draft replies safely." Full support setups are in Hermes Agent for customer support.

Email marketing with Hermes Agent and Klaviyo
The Klaviyo entry is a verified Nous-approved MCP. Set it to trust: untrusted so that creating or changing a campaign asks first. Read-only reporting tools stay unprompted.
Sample weekly prompt: "Pull last week's campaign and flow reporting from Klaviyo. Summarise what each email was about and how it did. Draft next week's campaign brief and two subject line options in a Google Doc. Do not create or schedule anything in Klaviyo."
What it produces: a report and a brief. A person builds and schedules the send.
Order data and weekly reports with Hermes Agent for ecommerce
If you sell through Square, its MCP entry covers catalog, orders and payments. Stripe and PayPal entries cover payments and invoices. Read-first rules apply: exclude refund and delete tools, as the Hermes docs show for Stripe with delete_customer and refund_payment, and keep YOLO and approvals.mode off away from this profile. The docs say both skip the untrusted prompt.
Sample Monday report job: "Every Monday at 8am, delegate three subagents: one reads last week's orders from Square, one reads the competitor alert log, one reads support tags. Combine them into one page: top products, stock warnings, competitor moves, common support questions. Send it to me on Telegram."
Delegation in Hermes spawns child agents with isolated context through delegate_task, so each part stays focused. Webhooks are also an option: the docs list Stripe among services that can send events to Hermes, with HMAC validation, for alerts on failed payments or disputes.
Model choice for cost control in Hermes Agent for ecommerce
The cron docs say each job resolves its model as per-job pin, then cron.model, then the main model. Put a small model on the daily price check and the support tagging, and pin a stronger model only to product copy, where writing quality shows. Subagents can run a cheaper model through delegation.model. Julian's own model tests are on Goldie Bench.
Who Hermes Agent for ecommerce fits, and who it doesn't
It fits:
- Small stores with steady product launches and repeat support questions.
- Sellers on Square, or teams using Stripe, PayPal, Klaviyo, Airtable or Intercom.
- Owners happy to review drafts before anything goes live.
It does not fit:
- Stores that want a native Shopify or WooCommerce connector. Neither has a dedicated catalog entry; the only route is a third-party plugin.
- Anyone who wants refunds, orders or price changes made with no human check.
- Stores that want replies sent to customers with nobody reading them first.

Hermes Agent for ecommerce FAQ
Does Hermes Agent work with Shopify?
There is no dedicated Shopify entry in the Nous-approved MCP catalog or the community plugin catalog at v0.23.0. Shopify is named inside the community dsers and markifact plugins, which are third-party, so read their catalog entries before connecting.
Can Hermes Agent send emails to customers on its own?
It can be set up to, but approvals do not hold outgoing messages. Keep it draft-only and have a person send.
Is Klaviyo supported?
Yes. Klaviyo is a Nous-approved MCP catalog entry using Klaviyo's own hosted server. Mark it trust: untrusted so every write asks first.
