The Jev waitlist no longer exists. TypeSafe AI launched Jev on 15 September 2026, ran a sign-up queue for six days, and switched it off on 21 September 2026. Today you sign up directly at console.typesafe.ai, and new accounts get $5 of free credit. That's the whole status update. The rest of this page explains what the waitlist was, what replaced it, what to do if you think you're still stuck in it, and how to avoid the fake "Jev waitlist" pages that keep popping up.

If you just want the click-by-click route to a working API key, I wrote that up separately as a six-step walkthrough in how I skipped the Jev waiting list. This page is the news and status version: what happened, when, and what it means for you now.

And if you want to build with tools like Jev alongside people who are already doing it, that's what the AI Profit Boardroom is for. More on that later.

What Jev Actually Is (In One Minute)

Before the timeline, a quick reminder of what people were queuing for. Jev is TypeSafe AI's decisions-only model. It doesn't write text. You give it some state and a question, and it hands back a typed decision with a probability attached.

There are three question types:

Responses come back in roughly 70 to 500 milliseconds, and pricing is $0.042 per million input tokens with output not charged, per TypeSafe's published pricing. That speed and price is why so many builders jumped in on launch day. It's the kind of model you put in front of routing, triage and sanity checks, not the kind you ask to write a blog post.

The Jev Waitlist Timeline

Here's what happened, in order.

DateWhat happened
15 September 2026Jev launches. Sign-ups at console.typesafe.ai go into a queue instead of straight into the console.
Launch windowRoughly 140,000 sign-ups are processed in about 36 hours, per my earlier write-up.
15 to 21 September 2026The same Jev 1.13 model is callable through gateways (OpenRouter, Vercel AI Gateway, Cloudflare Workers AI) with no approval step.
21 September 2026TypeSafe removes the waitlist. Direct sign-up opens to anyone, and new accounts get $5 of free credit.
NowNo queue. Sign up, create an API key, start building.

One important detail: under the old system there was no separate waitlist form. Creating an account at console.typesafe.ai and not being approved yet was the waitlist. That's why so many people still think they're stuck. They signed up, saw a holding screen, and never went back.

What Replaced the Jev Waitlist

Three things replaced the queue.

1. Direct sign-up

You go to console.typesafe.ai, sign up with your email, confirm it, and you should land inside the console rather than on a holding screen. No approval email. No invite code.

2. $5 of free credit

Every new account gets $5 of credit. At $0.042 per million input tokens, that works out to roughly 120 million input tokens, and output isn't metered. For a decisions model, that's a lot of testing. I break down how to stretch it in how to use Jev AI for free.

Two honest caveats. TypeSafe hasn't published a credit-expiry policy, so don't assume the $5 sits there forever. And it hasn't said whether dropping the waitlist means full general availability or an open beta. If you're putting Jev on a critical path, keep an eye on that.

3. Gateways, which never had a queue

OpenRouter, Vercel AI Gateway and Cloudflare Workers AI all serve the same Jev 1.13 model. You lose the official SDKs, version pinning and the larger documented request budget, but the answers are the same. If you'd rather compare every route side by side, my how to get access to Jev page covers it.

Still "On the Jev Waitlist"? Do This

You're not on it any more. There's nothing left to wait for. Here's what to do if you signed up early and never got in:

  1. Log back in, don't re-register. Go to console.typesafe.ai and sign in with the same email you used on launch week.
  2. Check you're in the console. You should see the console itself, not a holding page.
  3. Look for your credit. Your $5 should already be on the account.
  4. Create an API key. Open the API keys section, make a key, and copy it straight away because you won't see the full string again.
  5. Store it safely. Put it in your environment as TYPESAFE_API_KEY, keep it out of your source files, and never commit it.
  6. Send one tiny test. A single yes-or-no Noul question against a couple of lines of state. If that comes back, you're in.

If you still see a queue screen after logging in, you're very likely not on the real console. Which brings us to the next part.

How to Spot a Fake Jev Waitlist Page

Whenever a new AI model gets hype, copycat pages follow. Some are harmless SEO pages. Some want your email, your card or your login. Since the real Jev waitlist ended on 21 September 2026, any page still asking you to "join the Jev waitlist" today is out of date at best.

Here's a simple checklist:

The same goes for GitHub. Jev-related repos have forks and mirrors. Clone from the official account that published the project, not from a copy.

Why the Jev Waitlist Story Matters

Here's the bigger lesson. Plenty of people lost a week sitting in a queue while the same model was live on three gateways. The builders who moved first didn't wait for permission. They checked the routes, picked one, and shipped.

That's the mindset I push inside the AI Profit Boardroom. New models drop every week. Waitlists come and go. The edge isn't getting in first. It's knowing what to build once you're in.

If you want help mapping where a fast decisions model like Jev fits in your business, grab a free AI strategy session and we'll look at it together.

What to Build Once You're Past the Queue

With $5 of credit, here's where I'd start:

Keep your expectations honest. TypeSafe's own disclosed numbers put Jev at 67.8% aggregate against 74.1% for a comparable LLM on the same benchmarks. That's fine for routing and triage where a wrong call is cheap to fix. It's not fine for anything you can't undo. Test it on your own data.

Rate limits are also still moving. TypeSafe has been adjusting them based on GPU capacity, so build retries with backoff into your client from day one.

If you want to see how decision models plug into a full agent setup, my Agent OS guide shows the bigger picture, and I put new tools through Goldie Bench before I trust them anywhere near real work.

FAQ

Is the Jev waitlist still open?

No. TypeSafe removed the Jev waitlist on 21 September 2026, six days after the 15 September launch. Anyone can now sign up directly at console.typesafe.ai.

Do I need an invite code to use Jev?

No. There's no invite code and no approval email. Create an account, confirm your email, and generate an API key. Any page offering invite codes or priority access is not the official route.

What happened to my old Jev waitlist sign-up?

Your account still exists. Log back into console.typesafe.ai with the email you originally used. You should land in the console and be able to create a key straight away, with your $5 credit already there.

Can I use Jev without signing up at TypeSafe?

Yes. OpenRouter, Vercel AI Gateway and Cloudflare Workers AI serve the same Jev 1.13 model. You give up the official SDKs, version pinning and the larger request budget, but the output is the same.

The Jev waitlist is history. Sign up direct, use the free credit, and build something. If you want a hand working out what that something should be, book a free AI strategy session.
