Meta Muse vs Gemini Spark is Meta's always-on agent against Google's — both run around the clock on their own cloud machines, but Muse is built around WhatsApp, Instagram and a generous free tier, while Gemini Spark is built around Gmail, Docs, Photos and the rest of your Google account and comes with a Google AI subscription.

So the choice is less about which model is smarter and more about where your life already sits. If your day runs through Meta's apps, Muse fits. If it runs through Google, Spark fits.
One honesty note before we go further. I have not hands-on tested Meta Muse yet. My Muse coverage is what Meta announced plus practical tips, and the hands-on Muse detail below comes from Nate Herk. Gemini Spark I have covered on my own channel.
Gemini Spark and Muse Spark are two different things
The names trip people up, so let's untangle them. Gemini Spark is Google's 24/7 personal agent. Muse Spark is Meta's AI model — the current version, Muse Spark 1.3, is the engine that Meta Muse runs on.
So "Spark" appears on both sides, but it means an agent at Google and a model at Meta. When you compare the two products, you are comparing Meta Muse (the agent) with Gemini Spark (the agent).
What Meta Muse is
Meta Muse is a personal AI agent that Meta launched on 8 September 2026, built under chief AI officer Alexandr Wang. Meta's pitch is "personal superintelligence" — an agent that does the work instead of just chatting about it.
Meta says each user gets a Muse Secure VM, a dedicated and isolated cloud machine that keeps working after you close the app. You talk to it in the Muse app or inside WhatsApp. I've put the full breakdown in my Meta Muse guide.
What Gemini Spark is
Gemini Spark was unveiled at Google I/O 2026 as a Gemini-powered personal agent that runs 24/7. Per launch coverage, it runs on virtual machines in Google Cloud, so it carries on working when your phone and laptop are switched off.
Google says Spark connects to its core services — Gmail, Docs, Sheets and Slides — and can spawn sub-agents to split a complex task into parts. MCP support for third-party apps was announced too. It sits alongside the rest of Google's agent push, including Google AX.
If you want help turning agents like these into actual workflows for your business, that's what we do inside the AI Profit Boardroom. 3,000+ members are building with this stuff every day.

Ecosystem: Meta apps vs Google apps
The ecosystem is the real decision in Meta Muse vs Gemini. Both companies have built an agent that works best on their own turf.
Muse lives where Meta already has you. You can message it inside WhatsApp, and it connects to Facebook and Instagram. Nate Herk, who tested it for about a day, found the WhatsApp connector is native rather than bolted on. Muse also reaches outside Meta — Gmail, Google Calendar, OpenTable, Peloton and Plaid were connectors at launch, with Shop Pay and 1Password support announced as coming.
Gemini Spark lives inside your Google account. Your email, your documents, your spreadsheets, your slides and your photo library are already there, so Spark doesn't need to be introduced to them. That is a big head start if you run your work on Google Workspace.

Price and access
Price is the sharpest difference between Meta Muse and Gemini Spark at the time of writing.
Meta Muse has a free tier of up to 100 million tokens a week. Paid plans are $20 a month for 500 million tokens and $100 a month for 3 billion tokens. Meta says there is no advertising and that conversations aren't shared with its ad systems. Muse is US only for now, for adults 18 and over.
Gemini Spark launched US-first to Google AI Ultra subscribers. Coverage lists Google AI Ultra at $99.99 and $199.99 a month, and Google AI Pro at $19.99 a month. Which plans include Spark has changed during the rollout, so don't take my word or anyone else's for it — check Google's current plan page before you pay for anything.
What each agent actually does well
Both agents are meant to finish jobs, not just answer questions. Here is where each one is strongest.
Meta Muse
Meta says Muse can handle everyday life admin:
- Book travel and fill out forms
- Sell items and lower bills
- Track prices on things you want to buy
- Turn a saved reel or recipe into a grocery list
- Check out with a one-time card via Link by Stripe
On the hands-on side, Nate Herk found Muse had the nicer, more beginner-friendly interface. He describes a "heartbeat" that runs every 30 minutes and proactively checks things like your docs and email, plus tabs for approvals, schedules and goals. He was using it on the free tier, and he'd recommend it to non-technical people.
He compared it against OpenAI's agent in that same video. I've covered that match-up in Meta Muse vs ChatGPT Dots, and the agent itself in my OpenAI Dots breakdown.
Gemini Spark
I covered Spark's newest feature in my 29 September 2026 video, "This NEW Gemini Spark Feature Is ABSURD!". Spark now works with Google Photos, and one prompt can do a whole chain of work:
- Pick your best shots from a batch
- Edit them
- Build albums
- Prepare them for sharing through Gmail
It asks before it shares anything, which is the right default. You can also schedule recurring photo workflows, and it can turn whiteboards and screenshots into tasks.
My point in that video was simple. Normal Gemini finds things. Spark actually does them.
Privacy and trust
Privacy and trust matter more with these agents than with any chatbot, because both get deep access to your accounts.
Meta has published a lot of detail on Muse security. A "Sentinel" guard agent approves internet access. A credential vault hides passwords from the agent. Permissions are set app by app. There is a "forget" command, an audit trail of actions, and approvals for sensitive steps. A Confidential VM mode, with full encryption and a user-held key, is planned for late 2026.
The common concern from reviewers and commenters is whether to trust Meta with this much personal data, given its history. That's a fair question, and only you can answer it for yourself.
With Gemini Spark, the trade is different. Most of the data it touches is data Google already holds — your mail, files and photos. You are not handing over much that's new, but you are letting an agent act on it. The controls I can point to are the ones shown publicly: it asks before sharing, and payments run within limits you set.
My tips are the same for both. Start small. Check permissions app by app. Keep approvals switched on.
Who should pick which
Pick Meta Muse if:
- You live in WhatsApp and Instagram
- You want to try an always-on agent for free
- You are non-technical and want the friendlier interface Nate Herk describes
- You are in the US and over 18
Pick Gemini Spark if:
- Your work runs on Gmail, Docs, Sheets and Slides
- Your photos are in Google Photos
- You already pay for a Google AI plan that includes it
Nothing stops you running both — Muse for personal life, Spark for work. And if you want your agents on your own machine with your own rules, read my Agent OS guide. For how the underlying models stack up on real tasks, see Goldie Bench. There is a third always-on option as well, which I cover in Meta Muse vs Grok Bot.

Neither is better across the board. Meta Muse is the stronger pick if you want a free tier and an agent inside WhatsApp and Instagram. I haven't hands-on tested Muse, so I'm not going to call a winner on quality — match the agent to your ecosystem instead.
Is Gemini Spark free?
No. Gemini Spark comes with a paid Google AI subscription. It launched US-first to Google AI Ultra subscribers, with coverage listing Ultra at $99.99 and $199.99 a month and Google AI Pro at $19.99 a month.
